World Radio Day February 13, 2023

 International Radio Day 13th February 2023.

In 2011 the members of UNESCO and in 2012 General Assembly of the United Nation declared 13th February as World Radio Day [WRD]. They declared 13 February as an International Day of Radio.  The theme of World radio day in 2023 is RADIO and PEACE.                           

 What is Radio?
                                                                In radio, the sound is transmitted by radio waves, usually from a single broadcast station to a multitude of individuals using radio receivers. Broadcast many programs like music.                                                   Who is the inventor of the Radio?                                                                   In 1901, Galileo Marconi broadcast the first transatlantic radio signal and developed, demonstrated, and marketed the first successful long-distance wireless telegraph in 1874-19347

· Nobody can deny the importance of radio, in the 19th century, even technology is not so fast. everybody uses the radio for an update. different programs like music, news, cooking tips, update across border or different countries and most important cricket updates, etc. are broadcast on the radio. now in 2023 technology is so fast, everyone has their own mobile phone, an internet connection is available at every place and different programs are held on the radio, you can not only listen but also watch these programs on your television, computer, or mobile phone. 

Radio changed the mass media with its incredible ability to transmit global developments. This made information transmission easy and widespread. As radio became the main source of broadcast news in the early 20th century, the world changed. in 2023 the world has so changed but nobody can deny the importance of radio in the previous century when technology is not so fast. Today radio is also used in cars etc. so NESCO and members of the general Assembly proclaimed 13th February as World Radio Day.                                                                                                 How did radio get started?

KDKA    The first scheduled broadcast was transmitted by Pittsburgh's Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company on Nov. 2, 1920.

The biggest disadvantage of the radio today is less audience attention due to the progress of technology. people do not listen but watch programs today. therefore, today radio has less audience attention as compared to the 19th or 20th centuries
